Book of Remembrance 5786/2025

Congregation Beth Chaim

BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE
5786/2025
Tzedakah, or righteous giving, is a longstanding Jewish tradition to celebrate the lives of those who have preceded us. This year we continue the tradition of Tzedakah with another important Jewish value: bal tashchit, or refraining from destroying. In order to be environmentally sustainable, we will continue to prepare a virtual Book of Remembrance. Our loved ones’ names will run on our screens throughout the entirety of the Yizkor Memorial Service on Yom Kippur afternoon (Thursday, October 2). No hard copies will be provided. A link to a PDF document of the Book of Remembrance will be posted on the synagogue’s webpage and the link will be distributed to the congregation in an email on Monday, September 29.

The deadline to submit names for inclusion in the Book of Remembrance is Monday, September 15.

Thank you for enabling Beth Chaim to live up to all its Jewish values and for observing the multiple mitzvot of supporting our sacred community and caring for the environment, while remembering our loved ones.
