The Pre-School at Beth Chaim
COVID19 and Beth Chaim Pre-School
The health and safety of our children, families and staff is our top priority. Guided by information from the New Jersey Department of Children and Family Services, the New Jersey Department of Health and the CDC, Beth Chaim has developed policies that put health and safety in the forefront of all that we do. Everyone has a role in making sure our preschool community is as safe as possible. We will continually adjust our program’s policies and procedures to align with the current guidance from these agencies. Updates to our policies will be provided to families via email as changes are made.
We require that all families and staff follow state and local regulations related to COVID19. This includes but is not limited to quarantine requirements stemming from family travel, protocols for face coverings and any other ordinances.
Everyone has a role in making sure our preschool community is as safe as possible. We can reduce the spread of COVID19 by social distancing, wearing face coverings, and preforming everyday preventive actions.
Here are some of the changes you will see at Beth Chaim this September as we work to reduce the spread of COVID19:
Contactless drop off and pick up procedures
Daily health screening for children and staff; including temperature check
Small, contained class groups with consistent students and teachers in each group. The program is designed so that groups (both students and teachers) do not come into contact with each other. No one outside of the school community is allowed in the school wing (minimizing contact)
Masks and social distancing.
Increased hand-washing and stringent cleaning protocols.
"The plans Beth Chaim has put into place are very good, but what solidified our decision to send our daughter, is the execution of the plans we have seen 1st hand at camp this summer. We are looking forward to a great year! "

Warm Family Atmosphere
Welcome to Beth Chaim Preschool, a warm, welcoming, creative Jewish environment with a focus on academics through play.
Beth Chaim Preschool accepts children from all backgrounds. Our program is designed to teach respect for differences, to instill the values of gratitude and compassion, to demonstrate kindness through word and action and to teach children that we are all responsible for each other – in our families, in our classrooms and in the world at large. We believe that children learn through guided exploration. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum is designed to produce students who are creative thinkers, problem solvers and lovers of learning.
We offer small classes, an experienced staff and modern classrooms filled with developmentally appropriate resources.
Your child will receive a well-rounded, enriching education that covers a wide array of academic subjects and offers learning opportunities focused on personal development, values and socialization.
Exceptional & Caring Staff
Our certified teachers (two in each classroom) nurture a love of learning in each child through activities that foster a sense of independence and positive self-esteem. All teachers are certified in infant/toddler CPR and first-aid and participate in on-going professional learning and development.
Meeting the Needs of Each Child
Our small class size allows the teachers to be responsive to the needs and interests of each child and their family. Our preschool is a school for all children. We welcome those students with special needs and have many resources to assist in each child’s success. We work closely with each child’s support team to encourage growth and success.
Our school day is from 9am-1pm (with extended hours available), Monday - Friday. All our classes are taught by certified teachers and our school exceeds all COVID19 regulations and protocols as set forth by the NJ Department of Children and Families. All class size is limited
Kindergarten at Beth Chaim
While many school districts are currently offering a shorter day or a hybrid-model, Kindergarten classes at Beth Chaim meet from Monday – Friday from 9am-1pm (with extended hours available) every week. Our Kindergarten classes, taught by certified teachers, provide a developmentally appropriate academic curriculum. In addition to math and language arts, our students will also participate in science experiments, learn about history and culture, study other countries and their customs and be exposed to art, music and drama. Students will have time to run, jump and play in our enclosed playground. Nutritious snacks will be provided.
Our Kindergarten program can be a stand-alone program for your child or serve as a supplement to a virtual public school program. Should you choose to enroll your child in a virtual public school option, our staff will help your child log-on to any synchronistic learning and provide support for completing materials sent home by your local school district. Enrolling in our in-person Kindergarten class will provide the social enrichment young children need to be successful.
